The South West Angel and Investor Network (SWAIN) connects private investors, or 'Business Angels', with companies looking for investment. SWAIN has been introducing ‘Angels’ to companies for over 9 years after being established in 2004. Since then the company has gone from strength to strength and they are rapidly approaching their 130th deal into 93 companies. The total funding which has been provided into these businesses is now in excess of £65 million.
As SWAIN’s reputation has grown so has the extent of their activites. Both companies and investors as far as Liverpool and London have been succesfully connected by SWAIN although the South West still remains SWAIN’s primary region of activity.
SWAIN is focussed on deal sizes ranging from £50,000 to £750,000 and this concentrates their energy on opportunities, which are too small to be considered by the majority of venture capital institutions. With an investor base considerably in excess of 200 individuals, SWAIN provides access to a wide range of expertise and experience in the majority of business sectors. SWAIN are an independent not-for-profit company.
