Novel products for the diagnosis and treatment of infertility

Basic Information

Fertility Focus was established in 2005. Its mission is to double the success of current infertility diagnosis and treatment. FFL’s first product, the Fertility Monitor, addresses the cause of infertility in around 45% of infertility women by accurately predicting the female fertile period in advance and detecting ineffective or absent ovulation. It will enter the market in 2010. FFL’s second product, the Fertiloscope is an approved surgical instrument for the early diagnosis and immediate corrective surgery of physical causes of female infertility – the cause of infertility in around 40% of infertile women. These two products could already achieve a 30% improvement in pregnancy rates. FFL’s commercial infrastructure is almost complete. It will enable rapid penetration of the Monitor and has already generated £100,000 in sales of the Fertiloscope since launch by FFL in June 2008. So far, £2.6 million has been raised from Angels and a small VC investor. The company seeks to raise another million in angel investment to accelerate the marketing programme.
